It’s a famous statement since introduced in 1986 by Juran:

Control quality by design, not by inspection.

Flatfield reviews all data sets on receipt from the customer before releasing them for production. Next to a Design for Manufacturing check, the Flatfield engineers also perform a Design for Quality check.

Flatfield engineers are experts in uncovering possible imperfections in your PCB design. They understand the “quality drivers” and, perhaps even more importantly, the potential quality risks. Once we receive your data, we’ll approach you to discuss such quality drivers and risks.

After you approve the design for production, your data will be sent to one of our qualified manufacturing locations. Quality performance at these locations is supervised by our Shenzhen office: our VDA 6.3 certified quality manager audits these facilities twice a year.

Moreover, Flatfield employed quality inspectors are based at the manufacturing locations to supervise outgoing quality. Upon receipt of products at our European warehouse in Tiel, one of quality inspectors performs an AQL based incoming inspection. At the same time, the First Article Reports (FAR) or, in case of an Automotive delivery, the PPAP reports are reviewed in our quality department.

Next to being ISO 9001 certified, Flatfield headquarter's corporate social responsibility program includes an important environmental and sustainability chapter. Flatfield headquarter is ISO 14001 certified and follows the REACH and ROHS guidelines as well as guidelines from the conflict materials act as defined in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 1502(e)(4).
